Gear Linkages

I am reconditioning the gear lever linkages and bushes . Does any one know if the elbow below the gear lever is greased or runs dry ? Although it is protected to some degree by the floor housing mine was full of grit and dust . Has any one fitted a dust cover and filled with grease ? My hands are too big to do this fiddly job more than once .

The lubrication chart says 'Gear leaver ball and ball socket - Shell anti-seize grease' I take it that this is only on assemble as there is no mention of it again on the lubrication schedule and I don't recall seeing a grease nipple in that area.

Few bits to check from experience also... Under the floor where the linkage joins the main shaft...a nut is kept locked by wire, the final link to the top of the gearbox nut is tight and finally the small block linking the shaft to the gearbox... Mine has wear groves. All these can make the linkage sloppy it tough to find gears... Check these while swapping the bushes the and the change is actually quite nice :)
