Hi there, ive just become the new owner of a commer van which i am very excited about.
The van in question was was listed on this sites for sale section as aussie panel van i think ?

hopefully my attempt at loading a photo has worked

So now for my questions .....

where do i find the ID tags and chassis number for this van?

if my photo has come up , could someone please tell me what model and possibly what year it is ? i am assuming late 60's ? it has a 2500 badge on the door if that helps

any help would be great

Id tags should be under driver seat and on the pannel where the engine lid clips on to at the back

I remember this one for sale, very nice indeed mate the badge on the door is loading weight i believe date wise i'm unsure how to read Aussy reg plates, but i would assume early to mid 70's at a guess?

oh ok, haven't lifted the seat yet as i had to fumigate the old girl to kill off a few redbacks that had set up house [:0]

there will be more pics in coming weeks to show its progress,
its getting resprayed inside and out and reupholstered over the next 3 or 4 weeks , also will be lowered a few inches with a set of white walls.

Should be getting repowered within the next 6mths, could someone please send me the link to the v8 commer i seen mentioned on here somewhere ? a rover engine i think ?
at this point im leaning toward using a 302 windsor or 318 hemi depending on how much room i have under there.

Thanks for the link Pete, i had thought the engine would fit between the wheels for some reason, but now i like the idea even more ! mid mounted v8 commer ! it gives me an excuse to fit a raised false floor and build fitted toolboxes around the engine, perfect
