Fuel Tanks

Looks like a plug hole after a bad nose bleed [}:)]
I guess the custard cream was used for scale purposes, you could have used a chunky Kit Kat, they are approximately 4" in length :p

Superb job Mr Racer, I've got one on my wish list[8D]

the red stuff is dye penetrant for crack testing or chris,s blood, not sure which [:0]

Dye-pen, you mean you didn't inform the HSE and local council so you could do full bombing on every weld [:0]

unfortunately my lead sheilding is in for service at the moment, so x-rays are on hold ;)

there is 10 in total and fitting them in an 6x8 shed with a lathe, press, welding gear and me is a task houdini would struggle with [:0]

absorbs more vibration with better sound deadening qualities;)

tanks look great, therre was no need to put Georges back end in pic for added glamour :D

Bessie - four star commerdation

george is such a poser kes, he likes to be in all the pics if possible :I
these are not as good as i would have liked, they got off to a bad start being out of thinner material than i wanted and being cut short as well [xx(] the welding is very ugly too. its difficult to be perfect when your facilities are poor, small cold sheds, poor light, small bench etc.this is reflected in the price, but they will do the job better than the old ones and carry more fuel [^].next batch will be bigger and neater :)

Looking good.
And well done in taking the plunge in making them.
PS I'm still investigating roofracks....

Cheers

fits a treat [^] i moved the sender units to the top of the tank as i do not trust the cheapo gasket 100%, so some may weep slightly when totally full. total capacity is 49.5 litres or 10.87 galls [^] standard is 9 galls.
i will supply all stainless jubilee clips and bolts, washers, extension wire for the sender as a fitting kit, i am too nice to you guys :I dont worry if the fuel is a bit red to start with, thats the dye pen, unless you,ve filled up with red diesel by mistake of course :D
they will be ready for dispatch next week, so for those interested give me a shout and for £150+ choccy biccy tax i will send one ;)

Superb, at last an end to snakeskin :D Does it use the standard filling hose[?]

'Harvey the RV'

certainly does [^] the only mod needed was to go up a size on the feed hose. it took about an hour to swap over :p

much nicer ;) less bullets involved [:0]
