fuel tanks

Had this made the other day before i went away in the camper gets rid off all the snake skin problems and rust in the carb and fuel pump.I had a 12mm outlet fitted on it then steped it doun to an 8mm outlet about 2ft away from the tank then run 8mm all the way to the pump the mpg is so much better with this and the new engine it now costs about 20p a mile.I took it weston super-mare didnt lift off once!! Sticking about 60mph and down to 50mph on hills.Thats with weber replacement carb lumnition electronic ignition with 9deg advacement on dizzy.Next mod is facet electric fuel pump and regulator.Oh and a better exhaust system!

Had to do a bit of welding to before it went for its mot this year got the plasma cutter on it and went a bit mad!![}:)]

looking fantastic[8D] some good works going on there - interesting to see step repair as mine currently in pieces, hope it looks as good as yours when finished.

I also changed the tank neck to keep the rain out!![:(!]

that tank's really nice can I ask how much? I'd like one of them (before the snake skin gets me!). There was another Dodge autosleeper with the same decals at the Yorkshire meet.

I need to do that repair too nice to see how its done. What are you doing for door seals?

One of my mates did it for me at a place called RADTEC RADIATORS in cannock if you google them and give them a call ask for Daz Jeans and tell him you have seen my tank and he will look after you there around the £220 mark. They can fabricate most things in alloy there radiators and intercoolers are fantastic[^][^]

My door seals were in good condition but they dont look hard to get hold of would have thought any good trimmer would be able to get them.There is usually a good chap at the nec classic car show on the auto jumble that has stuff like door seals.;)

Its a standard 1725 engine but a factory recondition one i picked up a while ago that had pretty much only been run in:)Its stamped on the side 1735 on a little plate[?] Just had the cylinder head skimed a bit and hardend valve seats fitted to run on unleaded:) I fitted an isuzu one its 135amp! fitted a split charge on it works a treat plan to fit a large invertor thats why i put a big alternator on it;)

there is a danger of some more progress tomorrow. i have a pair of ali wings off a roller to repair, so while i am set up ;)
