Front wheel spaces??

Hi everyone,
Has anyone fitted wheel spacers to the front wheels of there commer?? I was thinking of fitting 2'' inch ones to give the front wheels a wider stance. Do you think it would give the van a better ride ?
Or would they put stress on steering arms, hubs and bearings?? Some feed back would be great..

2" is a lot and would put stress on everything with the extra leverage, especially the studs. I would imagine the steering would be very heavy and you might not have enough clearance between tyre and step on full lock. Saying that I've never done it and don't know anyone who has

The ones i was thinking you bolt on using the existing nuts and they have new studs fitted..
Good point about the tyres on full lock I didn't think of that..Will do some measurements??

And check you get still get wheels off using the van jack... Having used this week I was surprised how tight it is...

You have to watch out for the handbrake lever recess too (both sides).

Better ride?

Commers ride great as they are. If yours doesn't there must be something wrong. Spacers are unlikely to help, if anything they may make things worse.

Mine are spacer/adapters on the front and it reduces the full lock as it can rub - not even sure its as much as 2"!

I'm about to make some 2" spacers but not for road use, just so I can get it on a hub dyno.
