Front wheel lock clearance!

Hello, would any of you kind fellows mind checking to see how much clearance a standard 15inch wheel and tyre will have on full lock between the tyre and body? I think it is an inch, but my subframe is dropped+in pieces so i can't check

Im sure its a bit more than that as ive got 15x7j wheels on the front of mine and they dont rub at all

Excellent, so that means that if i space out 30mm and run lower profile tyres, i should be sorted! Do you happen to know if there is much structural strength in the step? because i may try and slim it down a touch seeing as it needs replacing anyway...
