Noticed in the pics of Ruperts van ,that the front seat support is a full width frame,with seat backs mounted on it . Is this the later type then? I remember there being 3 separate seats ,some models having no centre seat as standard.Centre seat had a lap only belt on it as I recall .Just curious!.......

The full front seat is an aftermarket conversion, usually camper fold down bed. Factory fit is 2 or 3 seats, either black or deluxe brown.
Ah I see ,thats a good idea ! Yes I remember ,some had brown seats,or black ,with a ribbed design and border on the squab and the upright .The firm I worked for that had these vans ,usually had a team of 2 guys ,and me being the "apprentice" had to sit in the middle, usually on a cushion ,as not all had a centre seat !As I recall seat belts werent bothered with ,the centre engine cover not having one anyway !What a recipe for disaster looking back on it !This was in about 1970 ,cant remember when the seatbelt law came in !
think it was 73,i know i was young,i thought thank goodness at last i will be safe!lost count of the times my nose ended up on the windscreen!
