fridge manual

Does anyone know how the fridge works in my autosleeper, its the original, there is a little valve in the front under the door , a turn knob with Max on it and a little red push button, I've just connected the gas up near the battery box , I wondered how long it takes to get cool ? Any help appreciated

There should be three knobs on the fridge panel, a small white one, a small red one and the larger one with the numbers on it - there should also be a gas tap somewhere close. The pilot light is lit with a flint on the other end of the small white knob, turn the gas on then push the red knob in, to allow the gas to the pilot light, and hold it while spinning the white knob (this is connected to the flint over the pilot light at the back left hand corner of the fridge). You need to get down on the floor and look under the fridge, you will see the flint sparking as you turn the white nob. When the pilot flame lights keep the red button pushed in for a minute or so then let it go and the pilot light should stay lit.

Cool - hopefully;)
The coil under the ice cube tray should start getting frosty in about half an hour. Just a thought - is there an external flue for the pilot light vent?

I think so, the knob is numbered so the higher the number the colder it gets. Once it's cold you wont need it turned right up.

The van has to be level for the fridge to work properly, you should see frosting on the tubes under the ice tray if it's working.
