Fridge in Autosleeper - How does it work?

I noticed a gas fridge in one of the cupboards. How do you switch it on? I know nothing about fridges, as you can tell. The dial is for temp control but whats the purge button for (except presumably for emptying the line) and the white knob that presses in, what does that do. Does it need "priming". Or what?
Any pointers appreciated.

on the end of the white knob is a flint ;)thats all I know,shouldn't you have got to know how the fridge works before doing all that work,be carefull :)check your hoses are not perrished ;)

If it is the same as mine it runs off a tiny pilot light. To light it there is a small panel under the front of the fridge, switch on the gas, push in and hold the red button then spin the thin knob on the right - it is connected to a lighter flint that sparks as it spins to light the pilot. Once the flame has establised for a while let go of the red button and hopefully it will stay lit.

Hi jules,
If it's the same as the one that used to be in Buttercup you turn the gas on, turn the fridge control on, hold the button in and hold a lit match at the back on the cooker side of the fridge bottom, it should then light, hold the button in for about another 5 - 10 seconds and you should be away.

Thanks. I'll go and check it out now. Do you have to hold in the red button while operating the flint? Like an old boiler? I didnt see a pilot light window...[?]

I don't remeber the one in buttercup ever having a flint we just used to hold the button in while we stuck a long match in to the back. On mine there was a fairly obvious target for the match, laid on the floor you could see where the pilot bit was.

Rans fridge also ran off 12v which could be powered when driving,never drive with the gas on! The idea is to use the gas to cool the fridge before travelling,once loaded turn off gas swith to 12v,with engine running,during the journey the 12v will keep the fridge cold,if you stop off on the way turn off the 12v too,untill you move off again as it can drain the battery. 3 way frige = gas,12v or hook up ?
There was a small togle switch for the 12v inside the fridge cupboard not sure about hook up,I never dared to use it on gas,but had used it in 12v,if you try not opening the fridge unneccesarily it will stay cold for a good w/e switched off.

we were wondering the same thing about the electricity? my dad had looked and said that it did seem to be getting power, from the leisure battery. i feel the same always nervous when the gas is on:(
