Yep its on my list of engines to try in the commer engine jig! lol
Will go straight in on the mt75 box ive mounted, but you will have to take all the thermostate and parts off the back of the engine and buy a coolant conversion pipe from burton power for a rwd application.
Plus you will also need an ecu and vehicle loom to plug the engine loom into to make it work. would be a nice conversion though;)

They cause packaging issues because of the thermostat etc as Jon says, but all parts are available at a price to remedy. I run the 1.7 VVT engine daily and it's a cracking unit.

Anyone know how easy it is to keep the original ECU and loom from a unit if using the engine from an early Mondeo?

You need to take the whole loom out the car, get a wiring digram and start to disect it. Its the only way, the engine loom to the car is easy, its just the rest of the loom fuse board/ecu side. Ive got a complete car loom for a pinto efi engine, which im going to try in the commer bay but even that loom fills a bin bag!lol:D
