flipping axle!!

ok,as on my build thread, ive heard and been told about flipping
the rear axle, now im presuming that to do this, you're gonna have
to pull the half shafts out abit and then remove the bolts from the diff housing and turn it 180, so that it will still have 3 forward
gears, ( 3 speed autobox )

if this is the case, (new to all this,) does anybody know where
i can get hold of some replacement gaskets for the items that are
being took apart ?.

the axle already has a leak so it seems i might as well go this
route as it needs sorting anyway.

I seem to remember that simply running the axle on top of the springs results in the diff hitting the van floor, so that would need to be modified to suit. Remember that'll take you down a good 6 inches too (unless thats what you want)
 
not totally no, it will have a rear rock and roll bed but
it will be mainly transporting the kids etc,but will be
towing a caravan, so im getting longer shackles made with
mulitiple holes,should i need to raise it.

future plans will be air bags, but im concertrating on
getting it on the road on a tight budget at the mo :(
