Fitting seats

Hi again everyone,

I am looking to fit some modern seats in the front of the van. I had hit upon the idea of reusing some old Corolla ones I had but they turn out to be too deep so you sit too high.

I think a couple of people have fitted mgf seats, are there any others that work well? Also what have people had to do to fit them? Thanks in advance once again.

Cheers,

Mo

Not tested but I noticed recently that Smart Car seats have really low stack so if the fittings line up you may be in luck. The Smart for4 seats also allow access to the batteries on the highwayman as they hinge forward for passenger access in their original environment.

Also looked to me like Audi TT mark 1 seats were pretty low stack (and remarkably cheap) But have nothing to back that up.

Please realise though that I am a noobie and maybe talking total poppycock.

Mx5 seats were one of my options but I got a pair of mgf seats for 99p so I used them..
Skoda Citigo/VW Up seats should be OK too.

If you can find some I would recommend Sunbeam Alpine seats. They were fitted to some vans as an option and if you can find a set with the correct runners they are very comfy - and period correct

I fitted these to Harvey

And black ones for Bonnie - these ones a little over stuffed but a nice place to sit.

Oooo they look so nice and comfy. Still one day want to fit a flip bench seat to make a sofa in the front - probably a pipe dream!

They do look very nice, alas I would like some headrests though. I’m off to see some local mgf seats on Thursday. If they are good I’ll bag em and stick them in the van.
