Fitting an electric fuel pump

Fitted a facet electric fuel pump and filter king regulator to my camper made alot of difference to performance up hills as keeps the fuel pressure at 3psi all times.It makes it alot better on warm start ups to as commers suffer from fuel evaporation in the carb with heat.
You have to make a bracket up to bolt it to and rubber mount it to keep it quiet.

You also need to fit a fuel pressure regulator/filter to keep the pressure at 3psi and keep the fuel clean.

I chose to mount it here as its the coolest place in the engine bay and you dont need to mess about with the fuel line route to much.
I also fitted an 8mm fuel line and ally tank from radtech.

Nice job. I've put a similar set up on the mini but using the earlier type Facet pump and that works a treat[^] Got hold of another Filter King for Harvey and and now looking for a pump so will be able to compare notes soon.

That looks great![8D], like your clean engine bay[^]. Would solve my little problem that.How much did it knock you back? (if you don't mind me asking?:I) How did you blank the hole where the mechanical pump was?
 
Oops! I can see how you blanked it off :I, did you make that plate yourself or is it something you can buy?
 
Made it myself,if you draw round the gasket on some 5mm steel or ally and cut it out with a hacksaw and then grind it up looks really neat;)

Be careful with second hand filter king regs (if the one you have got hold is second hand)they tend to put to much fuel pressure out when they get really old so check the pressure with a gauge after you have fitted it.;)

Thanks just need to get the underside as good now,get rid of all the surface rust;)
 
Is that a device for cutting the power in the event of an accident[?]

Yes panky when you wire the live feed to the pump,you need to get your self an inertia fuel cut off trip swich if you in a bump it will kill the fuel supply.Best car to get one off is a rover 200series petrol model of coarse;)They are mounted on the bulkhead.
