first road trip

hi everyone just back from our first trip with our new camper. had a great time and are totally in love:I
went to keswick, lake district , rained lots but we stayed lovely and dry. van was just great in every way and everything we hoped for. :D:D

a few people came over to comment on how nice she was and even got some waves from vw drivers! sam of course thinks its a wonderful playground - he particularly likes to open the windows and pretend its an ice cream van!!

off now to plan next trip........

stayed for 2 nights!! we were so excited about putting the bed out etc i think we were in bed by 8.30 on the first night:) altho to be fair sam did have us up at 5.30 in the morning because he was so excited that we were going off in the camper.

campsite just outside keswick - castlerigg farm. was a nice little site - although some of it was on a bit of a slope. we were quite lucky with our pitch but might have to look at getting some wedges? not sure if that what they called or where we would carry them?

site based at the bottom of walla crag so good views and walks, took our crazy dog with us who also loves the camper. altho we did have some fights during the night as he decided to try and climb onto our bed!

Did you manage to get to the stone circle - very atmospheric and better that Stonehenge for views [8D]

hi there, there's a picture of some wedges on ' doms commer' on page 3 of the vehicles for sale section. the are stored in the rear door cupboard - should be easy to make?:)

thanks will have a look at them. the stone circle was walking distance from campsite so we had early morning walk there. was great to be there before all the crowds.

Are you like me John, and find joy in trekking through wilderness to ancient sites?...losing yourself in waist high bracken and the occasional gorse bush plantation [V]

Many Congratulations for the first trip out, sounds like a special spot, glad you are getting some commer experience going.

Have so far not found need to carry wedges as have managed to flatten out van body with the jack on the slopey bits:)

Bessie - four star commerdation

Glad you finally got a van (And a nice one at that) I use the yellow plastic ones and store them behind the board where the jack is stored.
Have fun (I am sure you will)
