I showed this to Karen, she said "if you're going to buy a fire engine, I'd prefer you bought the small spacevan one" [:0];)

[:0]I thought Karen had good taste [}:)]
not that there is anything wrong with the small one,but just get her to have another look at the charm & how much cheaper tax exempt, probably mot exempt too :pI bet you could do a wicked camper conversion in the cab :p

And a sizable patio/BBQ area on the back [8D]

'Harvey the RV'

with ladders like that you could clean all the other commer roofs a doddle :D[}:)]:D
You could even have a band play on the back at a meet :p

"SYBHIL" & N0.1

you could even remove the ladder all together and turn it into a retro commer transporter lorry. how cool would that be. but i do like it as it is of course, and would never take an angle grinder to it.;):p[}:)][:0]

good to know Karen also dedicated to the PB cause - sounds like all clear to add the spacevan to the collection[8D]:D[}:)]

am sure you could still join the commer collective ownership on the biggy. Would make a good camper as it is, big water tanks, plenty of places to hang the washing and think what good TV/Satellite reception you could get:D

A Commer Magirus? What is the link between Commer and Magirus here?
I thought Magirus was a german truck manufacturer.. [:0][?]

I have been a really sad b####r and bought the handbook mentioned in the advert :I This one is 113LKE (1960), there is a picture of 792TKX (1961), which is very similar and was issued to Buckingham Fire Brigade.
Magirus were the 33m ladder manufacturers and David Haydon, the bodybuilders.
There are lots of pics of other Commer fire engines, including Walkthru and a very nice one of BHH385B, turntable, on the front cover.
Now, aren't you all glad I passed on this information, I shall now go and sit in the sad corner [V]
