Not long back from our local car club show at Fiddlers Ferry. It seems to be normal this year for the weather to be pretty awful for shows(well the ones I've been to:I)and today lived up to it. Horrible rain to start with and then breezy and so flippin cold[xx(] But the cars turned up and the crowds came out[8D]
Just a couple of unusual vehicles to show you, the first won the 'Landladies Trophy' - awarded, surprisingly enough, by the Landlady of the Ferry Inn
It's a unique Ford Special, the chap in the cap built it himself in 1963 and it's been in his posession ever since[8D] He had the molds made, laid the panels hiself and the moulds were never used again. It's got a wonderfully excentric 'home built' feel about it, brilliantly excecuted but not over done - you can still see the mold flashing marks on the roof and wings.
1172cc of throbbing Ford sidevalve power
This next one is also unique, not on a Commer unfortunately but the only one of it's kind ever built - one for Beachboy I think
I was surprised to learn it was made in 1980, I think the design looks much earlier.
Lousey weather but a good show and nice people[8D]
How refreshing
