have cut the peak off to enable me to get to rusted area underneath & on inner peak panel(however do wish i'd gone a touch further back. have now had to extend small wire brush attachment with the help of an old phillips screwdriver(chopped handle off and welded shaft to wire brush shaft).

so you can see peak better, looks worse than it is-alot of that brown is actually that rust beating jelly stuff(cheap grinder(borrowed and now burnt out(DO NOT GET A CHEAP GRINDER).TE-HE. R.I.P

took a little while before i got my b*lls out of my handbag and went for it-inner panel sems in very good condition though-will get all the rust off, kurust it then prime it up.

Looks in much better condition to what I found on Harvey[xx(]

am using your thread for ideas, its what made me go for it in the 1st place-not sure how i will get the inch or so of roof back which i first chopped off(where it meets the gutter)

Probably be best to position the main section back, using the the self tapper method, then you can offer up the gutter section and tack it in place without fear of the lot getting distorted. Have you made up a repair section yet.

when all is clean & treated etc, will temp re-fit roof section, then tack gutter back in place & then try to work out the xtra piece needed to fill gap between gutter and roof, inch or so & then try and offer up the bit that goes over wiper arms and joins inside of roof.
