Fanfare For a Young Composer

Hello Commerfans - and music fans.
My daughter Lucy is a talented, beautiful young composer (a bit like me only different talents) She has been short listed to win a prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society commission and needs your help. The winner is chosen by an online voting system which seems a little unfair as it works on how many friends you've got rather than god given talent (and Lucy has got it in very large bucket fulls) so I'm asking you to help by voting for her. It's very simple just a couple of button clicks on the link below - go to 'Vote' and tick the box for Lucy Pankhurst. There is an example of her work on the site called 'In Pitch Black' that she was commissioned to write to commemorate the Pretoria Pit mining disaster by Wingates Brass Band. It was submitted to the BBC's young composer of the year in 2012 and she won - the first time a female had ever won the title[^] No cash prise but very prestigious.

As I said before 'In Pitch Black' is about a mining disaster, not in South Africa, as the name of the pit suggests, but the Pretoria Pit in Westhoughton near Bolton a hundred years ago. It started with a massive explosion - as does the music - then slowly builds as the survivors awake and realise their predicament buried deep below the earth in pitch black darkness. Their story is told through the music as they struggle to survive and then, at last, the luck few are rescued.
I know if Lucy wins then the piece she is commissioned to write will be every bit as expressive and emotional.
