Fan not working.

Yes take the wire out if it's not doing anything. The bullet connector female part sometimes have three wires going to them, have a look within the reach of that stray grey wire if there is one.

OK just had a rummage behind Bonnie's dash. A live wire goes to one side of the switch, then a wire goes from the other side of the switch to the fan, the other wire coming out of the fan goes to an earth connection. Check the cable runs again and see if that is how it's all connected.

Your brown wire runing from the key barrel/light switch but doesn't go anywhere either, on my Commer is the live wire feed and without it my lights go out. Are you sure your headlights are working normally since sorting the key barrel out, even if they were okay before?

I'll go and have a look now. Regarding the wire on the fan heater switch under the dash I'll have a look at that aswell.

The fan heater is now working, I traced the wire and the connection had come apart. The lights didn't dim when I took her for a little spin around my estate, but there's still a loose brown wire, I'll trace that back tomorrow, where should it go from the barrel/light? That just leaves the black wire from the cigarette light, I'll test that to see if it's live. Finally what a bullet connector look like? Loads of questions just how I like it.

Well done that man I suspect a bullet connector looks like the one you've just fixed on the fan wire.

However, a brown wire from the ign/light switch should trace back eventually to the positive side of the battery, maybe via the alternator...so that loose brown wire you mention looks like it needs further investigation...

I agree but by the look of the twisted end I would suggest it's a later addition and never properly connected, maybe something to do with the stereo.

Further investigation is needed, what do you think the yellow wire would of been for?

I've looked at the wiring diagram and cant see a yellow wire or a brown/white one on the original set up (there is a white/brown one that come from the oil pressure switch). I may have missed them but I suspect they are a later addition, no idea what. If everything is working then I would take out any wires that aren't connected at either end and tape up any loose ends you are not sure of if you cant find where they go.

Your Commer,in all probability, would have left the factory without a single yellow wire fitted, as Mr Panky says, unless yours is a PA model
which used a yellow from the generator to a warning light somewhere.

Thanks, the yellow wire doesn't go anywhere so I'm going to take it out. The brown wire goes under the dash but I can't see where to. There are two wires running up to, where the oil pressure gauge should be, a red one and brown and white one. In my first picture there are two wires going to a connector, what's that for? The black wire from the cigarette light isn't live, the bulb I placed on it didn't light up.

Do you mean the green and brown wires going to a connector and if so are they single colours or combined with another colour?

There's a brown and white wire and a green wire that goto the connector, one of the wires goes to where the oil gauge should be. I've taken the yellow wire out, and I'm waiting to test the black wire from the cigarette light just to be sure. Is it possible that the oil gauge was taken out?

The white/brown wire comes from the oil pressure switch to the low pressure warning light, not a gauge.

No, the oil pressure switch is screwed into the side of the engine and operates the white warning light on your speedo - that's what the white/green wire is connected to. When you switch the ignition on you see the red ignition light and the white oil light lit up, start the engine and they both should go off.
