Failed.....

My camper failed its m o t,the reason is there is a problem with the front off side brake. I have been told the problem is the wheel cylinder. When the brake compresses to slow down it does release back quick enough. I am waiting for confirmation from the garage. Does anyone know how big a job it is? I suppose Mr Maltas should be able to get hold of the parts once i know what i exactly need.

Wheel off
Slacken brake adjuster.
Remove drum
Remove brake shoes
Clamp brake hose and remove from wheel cylinder.
Remove pesky R clip and cylinder should plop out.
As Haynes says...assembly is reverse af strip down. Last jobs are bleed and adjust the brakes.
Allowing 2 hours per side should be enough time.

It's also a good time to check and replace your flexi hoses.

I think this covers it...from memory.

That sounds like a partially collapsed flexy hose, it's lettong the fluid into the wheel cylinder but restricting it on the way out again.

How refreshing

I go along with Panky on this. once had a Nissan Vanette had no end of trouble with same symptoms, replaced the hoses ,never any more bother:)
