Exhuast 'o' ring

My exhuast sealing 'o' ring at bottom of downpipe has broken. Was a solid metal ring (notice the term 'was' in this sentence)

Does anyone know if I can use a modern type sealing ring or if not does anyone have a solid type available?

Forgive the vague description, Glyn very kindly looked at exhaust for me while I skivved so haven't seen beastie in the flesh - hope it makes sense what bit I mean:I

yes you can will make a nicer seal and will allow a certain amount of movement taking strain from exhaust necks but will wear in time and need retightening every now and again. make a note of part number when you find one to fit cos they dont last forever hope this helps!

Many thanks folks, will quiz my local motors factors about collapse-able one. They hide when they see me coming now - but at least they have stopped asking 'wots one of them then?' when I ask for Commer PB parts
