Im having problems with the exhaust at the manifold end.

After discovering the exhaust loose and the sealing ring in 3 peices,I have aquired a new sealing ring from Martin.

However the exhaust is still loose.Should the metal bracket (with the 2 holes in it the the studs go through) be able to come off the end of the exhaust?

Is it a case that the flange has worn away enabling it to slip through the bracket when tightend or am i doing something wrong?

Is the best fix to get a bead of weld welded to build up the flange again or are there other options?

Ive heard people talk about the RC40 but I assumed you use the commer downpipe?

Here's BMM version of the conversion. From his reports it works well and having ridden in Jessica I can say that it is not overly noisy. Slap a K&N on as well while you're at it.

RAN,Sybhil,the j4 and the riley all run with rc40 systems :p
yes, you use the std downpipe and sleeve it up to take the rc40 pipe :)

So does Martin.

Once I get the exhaust driveable again im going to start experimenting with the design.

Indeed you do, any engine can be strangled and the standard exhaust on a Commer is particularly bad. The easier you allow the fuel/air in and the exhaust out the better - the engine breathes better and all that stifled power is released. A K&N and an RC40 makes a lot of difference.

Hmm

Im getting ideas.I need to reroute current one and make the tail stick out past the body as I think the gas isnt being pushed out far enough and coming up through the floor-The dodgy broken downpipe doesnt help though;)
