Essential mods for a new Commer owner?

Anybody got any suggestions of what mods you think are worth doing to get the Commer running better?

I am going to fit a K&N Filter and maybe look at the RC40 exhaust setup.
Check all the fuel lines and replace with top quality Braided or similar if necessary.

Anything else you might suggest?
 
Off the top of my head (and all on my to do list, except the air filter which I have already done):

Change the fan from engine mounted to electric
Change the exhaust - there are some great ones out there that people have made
Fit a thermostat for the shiny new electric fan you have just installed
I think someone mentioned that the fuel and water pumps are engine mounted? - change these for electric
Weber carbs!!
V8!!!
CHECK THE OIL LEVELS IN YOUR DIFF!! Ooops I forgot this one.

Electronic ignition is worthwhile - I think Charlie has covered just about everything else:) Oh and get a new fuel tank otherwise the snakeskin will getcha:I

Blackout blinds;-) you can buy the material and sow it onto your curtains. A godsend when you get awaken at 5am with the sun melting your face!

Snakeskin? is that some reference to caked on s**t peeling off the inside of the tank or something?

Electronic ignition?
Enlighten me about this. I have swapped Points for Electronic on my VeeDubs in the past and I know my way around the VW engine, but as I have yet to get the Commer I have not even seen a Commer engine. IS it similar to a VW Dizzy and able to take a Pertronix Ignitor or is there some other brand specifically for Commer?

dizzy is standard lucas 25d or 45d so easy to fit aldon/pertronix :)

Spot on with the snakeskin - it's the internal paint coating peeling off[xx(] - it doesn't like unleaded apparently.
There are a few of us trying the Simonbbc 'electronic points' off of ebay - cheap at £19.

Re-rout the fuel line in front of the rad to prevent fuel vaporisation - and best of all......overdrive[8D]

We've had our van 2 years now - did the exhaust, K&N and leccy dizzy this year and these mods made us fall in love with 'Hunny' even more ...

So now planning the full resto route this winter :p
