looked at putting another type of engine in but seems alot of work the gear box is ok , was talking to a guy in doncaster has a few of humbers/hunters ,but a straight swap is better for me as av got a whole lot on with her at the mo moment ,
 
Did you try Panky's suggestion of putting some diesel down the bores and leaving for a couple of weeks?

put 2 liters of coke down no joy , so took the head off and it was full of water , rusted all over , and stuck solid

I've got the engine out of mine it was pressing the water system so I've taken the head off but all looks good and it's had a recent head skim can sell as is or I put the head back on with new gasket I've got ready let me know if you're interested thanks
