They sound great when revved hard[8D]
My Dad used to drive a Commer lorry with that engine in for Tate & Lyle, he used to describe how they de-coked themselves at in-oportune moments - like when driving through the Mersey tunnel:I - and flames and sparks would shoot out of the exhaust
Apparently when Chrysler took over rootes they only wanted to use Chrysler engines even though the TS4 was ready to go, which was more powerful, more economical and an overall better engine, so they nearly all went for scrap.
There are only 2 or three TS4's in existance as far as i'm aware.
That was tipical of Chrysler they s*dded everthing up!![!][!]
When i was a kid i used to stay with relatives near Bletchley and the London brick company ran commer lorries from the works nearby, you always knew what sort of vehicle was coming by the very distinctive sound a mile down the road.
That sound still makes the hairs on my neck stand upto this day even though i rarely get hear one
back to my "rootes"
