I like the engine cover, does look much nicer, and more practical. Bluebell seems to have off cuts of wood attached to her engine cover so i wonder if someone had once made her one.[?]

Mine has off cuts of wood on the top of mine too :p i was thinking of making a cover for mine.
does your have a bulge at the opening end? its just this cover looks very flat
Oh and loving the van by the way! one off the finest looking Commers i have ever seen [^]
 
Luckily Duke has a middle seat so no great hassle for us. This van is a showstopper, i love it soooooo much. That interior is just sweet sweet sweet;-) makes ours look lank in comparisson! Well done mate.

Yes i think it does have a bulge one end, think smurf does too!!! Hoping to get a bench seat for the Smurf!

The cover under the table does have a bulge on it, autosleeper got around this by laying a piece of foam over the full width and length of the recessed part of the cover and placing blocks of wood either side to the height of the bulge. The top is then screwed through the bocks into the engine cover and into the higher part at the back, phew!, I confused myself there!:)
 
Just back from Scotland, (not on a trailer!) had problems with the running at Moffat, thanks for all your suggestions lads (and thanks for the condenser Jimmy!) turned out to be a blockage in the tank (thanks to Gordon for blowing it back through - genius[8D])700 trouble free miles later its running sweet as a nut. Not a bad run out for its first outing!
 
wow that is rather tidy! sure you won trophy for the originality of this van and everything looks in great condition!

Thanks, That was an option by Autosleeper to take the bed from 3ft 7in wide to 4ft 3in - more elbow room!
 
Thanks for all your comments, there are only bits and pieces left to do now, we are going to make full use of it at weekends and holidays - do some serious Commer campervanning!!:D:D:p
 
Amazing is'nt it?, a camper van must be the only vehicle that you want to put miles on!, we've just got back from a 550 odd mile trip round the Lakes and Scotland, so since I got the van back on the road in June we've clocked up 2,340 miles and enjoyed every minute of it!. We traveled through the Yorkshire Dales to Hawes then into the Lakes to Hawkshead onto Keswick then through into Scotland, taking in Langholme and Moffat before coming down into England again through Alston through Cumbria and back to Hawes again, (so nice we went twice!). The van performed great and we must have gone to some interesting places judging by the lines of traffic behind us at times!. The only low point was at Keswick which was very windy, the wind slammed the door into the rear corner panel leaving a crease in it, soon sort that though. Speaking of keswick, the attendant at the site said there had been a Commer staying at it last week, anyone we know?.
