Duke is poorly:-(

Hi all, seem to have developed a virus with Duke? Haven't driven him for a couple of weeks and i have just gone out there to start it up and it's misfiring like a bugger and smoking like a trooper, crikey, i like a ciggie but this is crazy:-0 I did have this once before after being left standing for some time but it corrected itself after a little acceleration! I'm hoping that this will correct again but i have just been out there 20 mins and it's still doing it so i'm gonna rest it for a min just incase i'm doing some damage? Have i something to worry about here or is this fairly normal with Commer's if left standing? Any advice would be great but i'm no mechanic so please be gentle with me in terms of posh words and self diagnosis etc HAHA. The smoke is black and VERY strong smelling so i'm guessing lots of unburnt fuel?

Thanks in advance.

its flooding [xx(] likely its a sticky float/needle, try a few deft taps on the side of the carb :)

Hi Scott, glad to hear you got Duke sorted - what was the problem? I've e-mailed you Tonys number - have you received it? :)

Hi there, thankyou loads for sending me tony's number. It will be a great help to have that lick of paint that he has lurking around;-) As Tim said, i just needed to give the carb a little tap. He's up and running again and starting on the button as per usual. Thanks again my friend ,really appreciate your help.
