I used to drive one of these when I was a voluntary driver for a club for disabled children. It was always an adventure! The gearlever was behind the driver and even at 6' plus I had to twist round to get it into and out of second. It had a crash box and a top speed of 40. I remember taking the kids on a camp to Mersea Island once. When we started, we had a convoy including two transit vans, but I got left behind and arrived about half an hour after the rest. Still, there was great visibility of the kerb down past your feet!
 
hi peeps .. i drove this one and its far from slow for what what it is .. apparently has the same engine as austin healy :) from the window screen down to the beginning of the front doors ,is the only steel in it the rest is all alloy panels . all the glass is present i removed it to take the paint of ... the only real rust was in the front wings [V] but i welded in braces and plates to keep there shape ! took them of ,filled & shaped them then gave them to my m8 to spray ... as i was going to make fibreglass moulds from them so there are two immaculate wings as well. i was gonna rod it .. but no time now so if any one out there is interested its a hell of a lot more solid than it looks in the pics ! was used as a camper in the past but empty now .. shame to see it go but funds are short and new projects need my time .. want my money back ... £600 cheers... thanks 4 the pics kes
 
I promise you I haven't had a drink since last weekend but when I look at the Leland's big ugly mug all I can think about is a chocolate advert and a gorilla bashing the crap out of a set of drums. Is it just me :I

yep, they are definitely ssssssllllllliiiddddiiinnnnggg doors [8D]
