Hi all here's a few photos of my 1973 Dormobile which I bought back end of last year as a unfinished project. It seems fairly complete and has had a lot of work done by the last owner, including engine overhaul and new brakes and cylinders and pipework plus a few new panels. I bought it as a rolling shell with the guttering still to finish and the odd patch on the front then engine in and put it into paint and rebuild the rest of it...!

Hi yes it did, I'll take some more pictures of it when I remove it from its winter covers.. The van seems in really good condition with very little rot which a relief..!

Hi here's a few pics of my slow progress with the Dormobile project so far.
Most of the underneath prepped and cleaned and primed with buzzweld rust encapsulator primer and to be finished in buzzweld War hard setting underseal. Front subframe removed ready for cleaning and painting and new monroe d5464 adventure shockers to be fitted.

I think these commers need all the help they can get in the speed departmentIt'll go faster with a red rocker cover - well known fact
Yeah I've noticed that you guys have done a lot of work to them, I'm thinking the 6 speed lexus gearbox conversion might be an option.There are a few external bolt on mods that make a lot of difference to power, torque and economy. You may want to do a couple once it's on the road
I don't think it will be a straight RAL code, possibly one of these.

Top tip. Fill them with SAE40 or SAE50 to stiffen them up, makes a big difference with the ride. You can usually get it from garden centres as it's used in motor mowers but I got my SEA50 off ebay. A litre will do about 50 Armstrongs, I used it on both the vans and the rear of my Morris traveller.
