The peak section is bodywork so if it's not considered dangerous ie sharp enough to injure pedestrians (or MOT man) then it should be OK. I hate to say it but slap some filler in to get it through the test[8)]

not a bad start to the morning:) just had a call off my dad to say he has a spare regulator i can use til i buy 1 :D its on its way down today. im currently sat in waiting for a call to go view the flat then im hoping to get out and do a bit more cleaning up. thinking i may tackle the tank today and see if i can get it looking the part ;) whats the best way to tell if my sender or fuel guage is at fault[?] i know 1 of them is as the guage has never moved but i took about 20.00 worth of petrol out the tank when i removed it. also does anyone know the dimensions of a med/large leasure battery[?] im going to stick a box in the floor behind the drivers seat to house both a leasure and normal battery then the front footwell can be used for an emergancy tool kit, overalls ect [8D]

well its been a funny week for us [?] mixture of good and bad. the flat is ours :D and the dogs are welcome:) and my fuel tank is now stripped and coated in rust killer then red oxide which is drying now [8D] looks pretty good in my opinion ;) will ad a few pics later. co2 regulator ordered so welding should commence soon ( if i can figure a way to do it in the snow [:(!][V] ) unfortunately 2 of the six screws that hold in the fuel sender sheared [:0] im now clueless what to do as i have no thread cutters so cant drill it[)] all fun and games here eh... im trying to decide what i prefer. underneath is going black with some cream to break it up. not sure if i prefer cream tank/black sender or black tank/cream sender [?]

You should be able to carefully drill the sheared bolts out to the point where you can pick the remaining threads out with a sharp pointy thing. But any spark generated by the drill could be disastrous[xx(][:0] My advise is to fill the tank with water before you touch it with a drill and worry about drying it out later:I

yh good idea. its been enpty for 2 or 3 months so fingers crossed. im going to look how much sticks out in a min as if there is enough i may be able to cut a grove into them and get them out with a good screw driver. is it a cork or rubber gasket that goes on the sender m8? im going to wire up my sender with a good earth and move it by hand to see if it works lol

top right and far right bolts sheared. i was so carefull to. i guess 40 years was just to much for them. hopefully it will make them easier to drill but not looking forward to it as its a very fiddly job and if i go right through the tank in buggered lol

It's not the end oif the world if you drill right through, just wrap the screw in plenty of plumbers tape when you put it back in:)
Tank looks mint by the way[8D]
