Hi Paul, putting a bigger master cylinder on will only make things worse - a bigger diameter master will need more pressure at the padal for the same effect at the wheels. There are two sizes of front wheel cylinder, the bigger ones exert more pressure on the linings for the same effort at the pedal. You may just have the smaller ones fitted:I

How refreshing

hi john, sounds possible lol. will have to check that i think. been thinking about the idea of adding the servo but i thought they already had 1 lol i assume you would just ad it to the system but where lol

You can't just swap the slave cyl's though. The locating pin is in a different place.

cool, cheers martin. i will probably try a servo first as that may well make enough of a differance lol. out of curiosity does anyone know if it would be an mot fail to add a pair of shocks/springs onto the rear axle to compliment the leaf springs? someone on another forum sugested it but i cant see it making any differance except maybe stiffening very slightly

Forgot about the locating pin on the cylinders:I
The telescopic shock conversion has been done before (Martin does a kit) and if done properly shouldn't be a problem. I don't recall anyone adding coil-overs to the original springs though, could be done I guess.

How refreshing

maybe that was the case sorry lol
paul i will check sizing on dads tomorrow as its brakes are solid compared to mine.thats running later servo and different sized drums.it is ridiculous how much difference it makes

Paul have a look at my iceman thread a few pages back and there Is a pic of the servo in place. It's between the master cylinder and the chill on drivers side. Tight squeez and blocks the door check strap but works perfectly as really close to the cylinder. Cheers
Aaron

Well...alright then, maybe just a little...

never thought about putting it behind the grille, will have to look into it. im hoping i may be able to squeeze 1 under the front close to the chassis rail but not looked yet. been busy wire wheeling my new bonnet ;)

Had a little play about the last few days;) wire wheeling my new front cowl and bonnet and fitting a bulge in the back of it to allow for the air filter pipe

7747511030_7fa22f1a9e_z.jpg

couple of coats of red oxide applied inside ready for primer and top coat:D had to pick out a few paint brush hairs and put another coat on but not to worried about the finish as it will be covered up by the sound deadening [}:)]

7747504852_4c5478a193_z.jpg

just a few layers of primer on the outside at the min as im not sure what to do about the pitting/bubbling on the outside[?]

after i got that done i decided to look into the bulge needed in the bonnet:I couldnt just weld 1 in as i cant weld yet[:(!] so i was considering ways to cut a new piece of steel and try to create the bulge[?] then just as i was going to give up on it for the night (8pm) i opened the back doors and the answer fell on my toe[B)] (ouch) so simple lol
