looks lots better mate[^] if i was you i would keep the painted one as the chrome ones seem to pitt and rust quickly:( it did on tigger when i had it anyway:I so went back to a painted one[8D] best put a piece of mesh behind it when you refit it to stop the debris getting in;)

th_IMG_4730.jpg

yh, i was going to try rubbing down the old mesh and seeing what it came up like, but it may be alot easir to just buy new lol. the intake dont look to bad, i cant get hold of my uncles drill to get it out so im debating trying to carefully grind the heads off the screws

I did that job a year or so ago. I think I took a grinder to the heads of the screws in the end as it was much much easier to get the whole thing off and sort it out on the bench. I had to make up some new captive nuts, but it was pretty easy to weld some stainless nuts on the inside of the flange before it all went back together.

I got a chrome grille from Martin when I did mine and it's still looking good.

thats what i figured, the outer peak has been botched up a bit at some point but the paint underneath is a darker green. not sure if it was just a botched bit of paintwork or maybe dolly was 2 tone?

the matrix and blower are in good shape, its just the intake that is rotten. otherwise all good and working. found a small black earth that was not connected so took care of that. still cant get the fuel guage to work, how is best to test it?

you probably have not got enough fuel in it:I to check needle is working take a live off one of the other guages and touch the back of the fuel guage and the needle should move right across;) you can have hours of fun:p:D
