yh i know about that train:). i used to go to a campsite where it used to chuff past regular as clockwork:p. cant remember the name of the site off hand but im intending to find it lol, i used to go fishing off the pier at swanage;). one time i caught me a big arsed skooba diver:D. got him up to the surface as well[8D], we used to park in a big carpark up above the pier. and there was a dinosaur place between swanage and the site where you could dig for fossils. such good memories :)

Still have my ammonite fossils from Charmouth Beach somewhere:)

Paul, low compression in one cylinder may well not hinder starting too much but may run lumpy and be down on power. With an unknown engine I'd do a compression test first and take it from there.

cheers admin, will look forward to going back there in dolly lol i used to love that place. greg, cheers for the info, i will have to try and get a compression tester as it cant hurt to do it eh lol, what i dont get is its not down on power. and it doesn't always run lumpy, it runs sweet as a lot of the time and always ticks over spot on, it just tends to be a bit lumpy when you touch the throttle, but only for a sec. as soon as it gets to about 1500rpm the lumpiness goes and it revs fine.also its not as bad when warmed up

im hoping it warms up a bit today:(. as i was hoping to go out and have a look at the dents in my cab doors from where there are no door straps fitted[V]. im hoping they will pop out fairly easy:), i also want to look at the hinges on the drivers door as when you shut it, it catches on the body at the top [B)] not been out there since it started pee'ing down the other day so im hoping its not to wet in there ;)

not alot mate as the weather is nasty here ATM did finish running the cold air feed for my air filter (looks the danglees) and had a quick inspection of the cab doors. the passenger door has been filled at the top to cover a dent but otherwise pretty solid (unfortunately the doors have lost the flutes) the corner windows are a bit scruffy and have a small hole in the window frame on each door, nothing major thought. back doors seem pretty darn good, just a tiny bit of surface rust. next good days weather i think i may tackle the dents in the doors

WELL, NASTY WEATHER AGAIN [:(!] getting so frustrated now as i wanna carry on[V]. on the plus side when it dried up for an hour yesterday i did brave the cold to go look at my engine[^]. figured out why it was missing on 1. it was low on manky petrol of all things[B)], put in a fresh drop and now she is much happier. still a bit lumpy but i think it just wants a good tune and service now. dolly is now firing on all 4;):D. so some progress

yh, i put a fiver in it just to see what happened and the fuel guage didnt evan move. so either she was running on air or my fuel guage is broken lol.she sounds much happier now though, once she is warm she runs lovely. she just dont like being cold. and the choke is a no-no

sounds like its running to rich if does not like choke:( a fiver off fuel wont move the guage mate thats less than a gallon:I i have to put at least 3 gallons when my guage is on empty for the needle to move:( you will get used to the fuel guage in time;)

th_IMG_4730.jpg

yh i know, im tight;) lol. i just didnt want to stick much in as i will only have to drain it again soon lol. i got a little drum im using to save up some petrol:). once welded it should have a nice long drink and the guage will move[^] will check the sender why i have the tank out. was considering an ally tank but to be honest dolly's tank is in pretty good shape so may just paint it up and put it back:p will be working on my heater box soon, i dont think its to bad as the front panel is all rock solid around the intake but it is letting in a bit of water[V]
