lol, you wish mark dont think its compression related as it starts spot on everytime. but may be worth checking.i did notice that the posts in the cap has quite deep grooves in them so im wondering if its not contacting properly, it does spark but only weak

Try disconnecting the TAC, that could be the problem as you suggested earlier.

yh i thought that, but do i just disconnect the red wire on my distributer? never done a compression test before so i will probably try everything else first lol like i say it does spark, it just doesnt seem to be strong enough and when i took the old plug out it was soot black

my van is Tigger lol ...Lee's van (the dog) can't be collected as it has a slipping fan belt hahahahahahaha...well you would have to laugh or else you'd top yaself:(

I just don't know with the TAC, never seen one before but I'd disconnect everthing it connects too and just leave the original wires too and from the coil in place and see what happens. It could also be that the engine is running very rich and all the stop/starting and short runs is sooting everything up[xx(]

hmm, didnt think of that, will try dis-connecting everything first then if no joy i will just replace everything and get her tuned up, dont see it being anything major wrong. colin is tigger orange as well then? the poor old dog, so much work and a fan belt screws up collection. i would be up woolfy's camping in it if i couldnt collect, im an impatiant sod lol lol
