Unfortunately when i unbolted the seats 4 of the 8 bolts sheared [:(!] not surprised. free'd off my hand brake, its still very stiff but it works for now. as you can see there is a fair amount of rot to deal with but i dont think its as bad as i expected. she seems to be miss firing a bit but i think it just needs a good service. also took a quick look at my exhaust. no holes but it is very baggy up on the manifold join so will take a look as soon as.ive decided NOT to put the seat mount covers back on as they are not in brill condition and i wanna see the metal:I:D. also the cover seems to hold in the damp which made it rot more[:(!]

Anyone know what this is, comes out of exhaust manifold like a breather but when i touched the tip it seems to have a bit of petrol it it. never seen this before

That's a inlet manifold drain designed to dump petrol on your exhaust:I The old Zeniths have a habit of overflowing[xx(]

cool, will get that done then. me and my dad have been chatting and i think he wants to gas weld dolly because it has the added benafit of being able to use the heat to make neater bends in the metal. does the exhaust manifold join have a seal or does it butt straight up mate as feels like mine is very loose, but i wonder if its just that it needs a gasket? wouldn't want to over tighten it and sheare the bolts off lol. gonna whip it off asap and make a thicker system (mine is like a pea shooter). probably just make a straight through pipe with a cherry bomb, then if i dont like the sound i will fit something quieter

ah, i thought so, guess i need one then lol. sounds a bit of a tank at the min, might as well not have an exhaust on her lol. the list is getting bigger lol. got a grinder sorted now so hoping to take back some surface rust and get it primed so i can slap some tempory paint over it til the welding is done
