cheers guys, already my hands are dirty lol, not sure water is pumping round the engine, how full should the rad be? should it be just up to the coils or up to the top as pipe sits above them. and trying to get headlights working lol. also sussed the problem with the temp guage. broken terminal so will get that changed

both vans I have had , both had problems with getting the headlights to work and both vans it was the same issue......the rocker switches used tend to get grubby inside...very gently prise the switch apart and clean and lube the rocker plate and terminals inside and 'hey presto' [8D]

lol, yh he did have matching ones on but he decided to hide one lol. we call him super stink lol, headlights are already sorted now mate, but thanks for the tip anyway, you was right, i checked the switch and was grubby inside. looks like new now :) indicators and hazzards are the prob now lol

Congratulations on the purchase! :)

Looking forward to seeing your progress and love the colour - same as Yori!

Campaigning to get Yori back on the road!!

thanks mate, loads to do but im looking forward to her first trip, not sure if it will be to a classic show or a bootfair lol soon as its on the road and run in a bit i will be bringing her to a meet so everyone can meet her in the flesh (metal) lol

well a few hours spent today on dolly;), she now has working lights all round (except brake lights) looking at them tomorrow. changed the terminals on my temp sender (now working) and fuel sender but due to lack of fuel i dont know if that works yet lol. got the intermittant wipers working and went round it quickly with a sponge and hot soapy water. all silly jobs really but its all gotta be done :) once i got the brake lights working i will run round it with t cut and start stripping the insides ready to see her naughty bits[:0]:p

Had a little break in the rain today for an hour so went out and done a few bits on dolly:). she now has working brake lights, an air filter that fits properly thanks to some fettling and staightening as well as fitting some sticky draft seal round the carb and filter lid. and i took the big manky box off the bonnet, ugly f**king thing[:(!]. air horn working, indicators need looking at again [V] and all other electrics working as far as i know. hopefully tomorrow i can sort out the handbrake cable and get her up on ramps at the front ready to have her major exhaust blow sorted out ;)

My engine, is this the right air filter as a big hole has been cut in the bonnet because it sits to high?

Look Much Better Where It Is Now[:(!]

This Was Underneath, The Big Hole Was Cut Because The Air Filter Sits Above The Top Of The Bonnet[:0]

Have Fitted A Seal Ring On The Carb Now So It Is Airtight, Missing Pipe, Breather Or Return[?]

7113266767_af68638513_c.jpg
Straightened The Filter Box Lid And Fitted A Seal To That As Well So That Is Airtight Too;)

Dont forget when putting Dolly on ramps that the handbrake works on the front wheels not the rears!! So you will need to chock the back wheels;)

my air filter is on top in the center (see pic at top of this page) could i have the wrong carb and filter set up?, cheers for the advice about chocking the wheels, i always do lol, i get paranoid everytime that it will fall and squash me lmao usually end up on ramps with chocks in place and axle stands in place in case a ramp collapses lol

That thermostat housing looks a bit 'iffy' - if you remove the top hose from it you may find it has crumbled.....

Spare a Commer Guv?
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

yh i noticed that, but more worrying is that when it is running it does not feel like there is any water in the top hose, may need a new water pump, but heater still gets warm
