Thanks chaps, quarter bumper idea completely stolen of rich's (steve Williams) competition van, looks great. Thanks Martin, are they for the doors?, looking really for the Highline badge or something so can be adapted to say super vista and will fit the holes already there.
Well all very quiet round here today so thought I'd post something...been buying bits. Wondering if anyone has used these headlights on a Dodge and got thoughts about them, do they suit when fitted? (I know already so no comments about the Angel eyes allowed)
and a Martin Maltas servo...also hoping to get one of his bushing kits for the linkage, has anyone fitted one? are they easy and do they sharpen it up substantially?
Just an overdrive to find over Winter and that's me done, oh - a part from the whole camping interior, planned it out and very excited, a modern twist on an Autosleeper layout...
The headlamps look cool[8D], not heard of anyone fitting that particular type to a Commer before. I've fitted the linkage bushes to the gearbox end and it was easy - two bolts to get the housing off, drill/grind out three rivets, fit the new bush and assemble the housing with some small nuts and bolts. Just this made a bid difference to my gear change[^] The other end looks a bit more complicated but I reckon you could do it without dis-assembling the gear linkage by drilling the three housing rivets out in situ and splitting the new bush to get it around the linkage - they are made of a hard rubber like compound so you could easily cut them for the purpose. Plenty of good reports from those who have had it done.
Does look nice with angel eyes thanks for the pic pretty glad I got them now, we'll see what the yellow back and blue tint lens looks like. Thanks panky, sounds doable so I'll get one of those, third gear is somewhere inside the dashboard at the moment
just needs the hydrocarbon emissions tweaking and a brake imbalance sorting other than that straight through not bad after a complete strip and rebuild.
