Dodge Spacevan - Door Card thinkness/pictures

Hi All,

In the latest of the series of undoing some of the previous owner's bodges on the Dodge Spacevan I think I've found that the door cards are behind needing to heavily slam the front doors to shut them.

They appear to have been remade, using ply and then some fairly solid closed cell foam, then covered with the original vinyl I think. They're fouling against the bodywork below the seats even though it appears they've tried to remove some of the foam in these locations.

Does anyone have any info/pictures re the original construction and thickness? Would they have just been card and vinyl?

Thanks

Paul

interesting - can't help - but will look at mine - I have trouble shutting the driver door and I wonder if this is the same issue.

Martin made some for mine, and Bernie has recently done some too...

It's normally hardboard and the cards fit well inside the face of the door, there is a slight recess where they would sit as Heidi is demonstrating here

But I think the later Dodges had a full width card that was formed to the shape of the door.

I'm sure Bernie wont mind me nicking his pics

these are mine...looks like the ply is about 3mm, nor sure if original wood or not...the foam is fairly thick and touches the inner arch but doesn't affect door closing itself.

That's great, thanks everyone. They're the full length ones like jimberlakes and I think there's not a lot of room for extra width at the bottom edge of the door.
Going to remove the card soon to check it's definitely the issue and then look at whether I need to make/get new cards.
