Dodge Commercial

Chaps, got a phone call from a mate today about a Dodge Commercial near to where I work so popped round and had a look. It's a 1978/9 burgundy van with the sliding doors, had a look round and it's a bit ropey, bottom foot along the sides is scabby and holed, as is the roof above the gutter on both sides and there isn't a square foot of panel that is smooth, no interior in the back and the cabin is scruffy... but I really like it. left a note for the owner who called me an hour or two later and we had a chat. Apparently he would consider selling, he's owned it for 20 years, reckons it has a good perkins diesel motor and it's apparently solid underneath having just passed an MOT, has a bit of tax too. I've agreed to pop round next week when he's in to have a proper look and talk figures, so;

Questions are:
1. What sort of money are we talking about seeing as it's a commercial and proper scruffy?
2. Any drama's fitting side windows/converting for camping?
3. Anyone got a nice interior and windows to sell if it works out!!?

Took some pictures on my phone, trying to upload them but struggling!

Thanks! John.

DON'T PUT WINDOWS IN AND CONVERT IT [:0]

Put the pictures up please. I would love to get hold of a panel van with a solid roof. Please, please don't convert it :(

As Bazil says don't whatever you do chop it up to make a camper[:0]. original vans are rather rare. Why not smarten it up and fit a camper interior, that way it could be returned to its commercial roots with out any problem. My advise is buy it anyway, or pass it on to someone who is looking for a panel van. Campers are far easier to come by.

Sorry chaps, was being a bit naughty [}:)] I wouldn't convert it, I understand the rareity of the old girl. On a serious note though, I should have some pictures by end of the weekend. If the price is right for me (it'll have to be very cheap) then great, however if he's asking too much for my limited budget then I'll post the figure he's looking for and pass details on to any interested parties.

John.
