I’ve used a 9v battery to check fuel level when mine blew. I got silicone hoses by mistake for filler pipes. They stank and was warned they will fail. You can get lined silicone fuel hoses. I discovered fuel slopping out as there was a small spigot bit near top of tank next to chassis on off side which should have had a pipe attached. I stuck the breather pipe end on it to get home. I’ve just remembered I never altered that and it doesn’t konk out so mine can’t be that sealed.
