Differences between a PA and a PB / Dodge

I've got a 1965 van with a super low diff and front suspension that could do with some tweaks. I've also got a spare rear axle and front subframe from a late c1980 van.

Apart from the brakes (PAs have bigger rear brakes and rear handbrake) are there any other quirks that are going to catch me out? Plan is currently to swap the whole rear axle over, then just swap back the half shafts with their brake back plates etc.

Front suspension will be rebuilt then swapped over but keeping the PA uprights.

Simples?

Not sure if it's the PA, or the earlier FC models, but there's a difference in the cross member mounting bolt positions somewhere.

The halfshafts, bearings and back plates are different between the two as far as i know. The flange on the ends of the axle tube is also thicker in the heavy duty model. I could be totally wrong but i thought the uprated suspension was a factory option?

I just need a good rootes...
 
Just swap the complete rear axle, you can still use your old cylinders on the new one, so you get larger drums with rear handbrake.
Front crossmember is only different on the FC, there are no mounting lugs.

Thanks for the advice.

I thought the pa had the bigger drums over pb not the other way around? Not that I've actually measured them. Will have a look.
