Diesels and interior noise.

Hi all,
Now that I've got the old girl looking respectable, I'm thinking more about engine conversions.

Someone here has to have a diesel in their rig. How loud is it at motorway speeds? 60+ (do they go that fast [:eek:)] ) Can you still hold a conversation inside or listen to the radio?
 
Don't know about a diesel but the standard petrol is loud enough at 60, I'm hoping an o/drive will quieten things down a touch on mine. There is a video on u tube of Wills Vauxhall engined camper doing 90, and you can still here the radio [:0]. He also claims over 30 mpg which can't be bad. Anyway I thought there was a 55mph speed limit in the USA [}:)]

Back in the 80's! Now if your not doing 80 your getting run off the road.
In city the limit is 60, so everyone does 70. On the open freeways it's 70-90 depending on the state. I think all states are limited to 80, but some will not hassle you unless your going well above that. Washington is a 70mph state.

Not that I want to go so fast as to roll my commer in a corner....
