De registering your vehicle.

I have found out that if you were to de register your motor vehicle, it would be known as an automobile. Under common law you could then travel in your automobile with no licence, mot, insurance or tax. You could exercise your right to travel under the common law. I have come across a few people who have done it. They carry with them their claim of rights. What do you think?

In theory it's correct, in practice, you'll get nicked ;)

I think that's the main problem, you would become an easy target. By handing in your licence you are not consenting to the road traffic act.

The thought of no insurance nowadays is pretty scary, especially in a Commer.Should a serious accident be ruled your fault, you may find yourself a guest of HM for quite some time.:(

Whether iot's registered or not, the Road Traffic Act would define your Commer as a motor vehicle for the purposes of the act so you'd be in schtuck!
