Custom body mods !?

Ok so I bought a '78 Dodge a couple of months ago with a slight knock !

One rebuilt bottom end later and its on to the body !
So I have a few Ideas as to what I want to do and I'm fairly confident that they can be done, But its best to check !

So I was thinking :-

De-seamed front panel

Internal hinges for side door
(thinking of using front door hinges/set up )

Up and Over one piece rear door

Well thems the ideas all basic custom stuff just cleaning up the lines really. Anybody done any of these to a commer before or have any experience etc

De-seaming wont be an issue(I have done a small amount on my van)
Internal hinges is a great idea, i used to always be bashing in to them and hurting myself on our old van. There wil be some sort of suicide hinge you can buy to sort that!

Up and over rear door has been done too but can't think at the top of my head who's van it is??? Anyone remember? Sure it had a wheel on the back door too?
 
Dotty had a single rear door but I think it still opened sideways.

I got rid of a few seams (above the fluted panels)
 
Yeh I've read Katy's build thread twice now.
Nice work ! Cant wait for the interior to be finished she's going to be a beut.

I think I'll be borrowing one or two ideas mainly the lower side panels, Dougie already has an oval side exit, and front panel smoothing.

I was meaning the front panel seam that runs up the a-post. I've done a few mini's that have external seams, same idea but on a larger scale.

But you'll be removing about 100 square inches of frontal air dam that creates wind noise, drag and is a favourite spot for going rusty - what are you thinking of;)

Well yes that's very true Panky why would I want to do that !?
My house has better aerodynamics

They are going rusty tho and are starting to "leaf"
