Cover.

Hi as your aware I've recently painted my van, I was just wondering because of the new paint will it be alright to leave a cover on over winter!

A very good question. I would be inclined not to fit a cover until the paint is fully hardened. This could take some weeks.

Andrew. Did you flat back after each coat? How many coats did you put on? If i remember correctly you put a coat on recently? If this is so...That paint will not have hardened therefore rendering your paint job open to elements. A cover will not let it breathe properly which in turn may hinder the curing process of your new paint! Best leave it out in whatever conditions we have now in my opinion!

I too would be inclined to not to fit a cover...but then I'm an allyearounder;)
Indeed, having just painted my roof, I am leaving the autosleeper part packed up half an inch so it doesn't bond to the main roof around the edge overwinter.

The simpler the betterer...

Hi I flattened back twice between coats, the first coat went on on the 2nd of September. I then spaced the coats out with about two weeks between them. At the moment it's still at me small holding open to the elements and it seems fine. I have re wired the key barrel and am now sorting out a cupboard that's on too of my batteries.
