Coventry Meet Oct 09

Me and Kristy will be there for Friday night please. The MOT on the Auto-Sleeper runs out on the Monday so I guess that'll be a perfect end to the year!!!

Hi Woolfy.

I've cleared it with the boss/girlfriend, and we'll both be there in "Pootle" (we finally decided on a name for the van - "Pootle" has 2 definitions- 1 is "to move in a leisurely, unhurried way" and the other is "to spend time pleasantly, doing things that are not important" - Both of which seemed to suit her down to the ground)

Will probably arrive on the Friday night as well if that's OK?

Cheers, Matt and Claire.

I really fancy it, will check for definate with Sally tonight whether we're free.

Hi Woolfy.

Claire and I are definately a definate, just don't know yet whether we'll arrive on late Friday or early Saturday. Looks more likely to be the Saturday.

Do you need the money posting to you in advance to give to the farmer?

Matt

Who do you have in mind Martin[?]:D

We could hire some of those fat wrestler suits and all fight for a prize lol....great fun:D:D

Helen and I will probably be there depending on the children, hopefully it will be us plus Sophie (12). The others (we have 6 all together) won't come, but little do they know now, that later in life they will be hooked on commering!!!:)

John & I would like to come along sometime on the Saturday the 17/10 if that's ok & bring Lily our daughter, she is mad keen on Commers (she's only 8!)but I'm not sure at mo whether we'd be able to stop ( we have a two man tent, plus daughter, plus dog who will run riot, not practical!). It would be good to meet up & also see all those fantastic vans, we still haven't found one yet but if anyone knows of one, let us know. We got started on the Commers when we went to Hope Cove in Devon last year, there is an art gallery there & the guy had a commervan ( painted a contemporary grey I think ) oh yes & we always wave if we see one on the motorway !

The grey and white stripe van is very elusive. I don't think he has ever joined the forum, but we'd all like to know more :p

looked on the web site www.hopecovegallery.com to see if there was a picture of the van, but alas no ! I could e mail Martin, thanks.
Chelsea

i've had a word with my other half, and we'll be coming down on saturday.
i'm looking forward to getting lots of interior ideas from everyone else. and putting faces to names. and the bbq. and the booze ;)

now i just need to find a) cheap insurance (L1 is v. expensive to insure in) and b) some curtains...

I think you'll find that is 'countcommer'. Helen's brother lives in Kingsbridge, Devon and we often see that vanquote:

POOTLE now that i do like, very suitable for a commer i think :D:D

Cazz...Is just Commer mad, and talks a load of nonsense

Glad you like it Cazz.

We had toyed with lots of names, but driving down some winding roads in north norfolk, going quite slowly, with lots of poor people in cars behind us, it struck us that we didn't so much "drive" as "Pootle along", and the name just seemed right.

Hopefully, you'll get to meet her in Coventry.

Matt
