Cooker spares

Hi all

I'm busy stripping and cleaning my stove - a Rainhill 'Argyll' one Model 0174 presumably made in the late 60s. I could do with some parts, have tried ringing the Rainhill (now called Stoves) Spares department but outrageously they don't hold stock going back that far! (they helpfully said they could probably help up to 30 years...)

looks like:

Ideally after 1x Valve Jet Assembly, 1x Knob and 2x Burner Crowns and Caps.

Any ideas?

Hi.
What about purchasing a new hob or a good 2nd hand one & strip it down for the bits..?

Thanks, i’ve been looking hard but whilst waiting for a suitable eBay win I’ve had a go at fixing the stuck valve. It was a bit of a faff but it seems to be a simple cone arrangement (pushing the cone into the cone shaped hole stops the gas) and giving this a gentle tap from the jet side and some WD40 freed it off.

Just the snapped bolts in the burner heads to drill out and re tap now.

Hi, you would/should use a smear of fine black grafite grease on the "cone" if you have removed it, making sure you don't block the orifice which the gas passes through, otherwise it will certainly bind up again. Also it stops any potential leaking by making a seal between the 2 surfaces.
I did all my gas taps/valves even though they weren't binding just because I hadn't any idea how long since it might have been serviced. Then I did use to do it for a living.;)
