Had an email from a guy in Sri Lanka this week :) Chanaka had just bought a Spacevan over there, a side door diesel van:p In reasonable condition, although the roof has been replaced at some time, as there are no ridges in it [B)]

Since he bought this he has tracked down another one, belongs to a poor gentleman, who uses it to transport goods for a living:)

Looks to have been restored recently.

I am not a person, I am a number, 395 actually......Be seeing you!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

He seemed to think it was fairly original, apart from the roof.

I'm just going by the white overspray on the tyres.

I would love to see a photo of the one still being used to transport goods. It must be one of the hardest working & longest operational Commers in the world.

Think different,

Having seen some of the stuff they do with an angle iron and a chisel - this probably used to be a VW.

Hey martin - I may have denied his forum application as Sri Lanka IP came up as a dodgy one when I checked - ask him to try again and I will approve :)

Hi Ceejay, I noticed you've joined us. Drop by and say hello sometime:)

Wow ! was it over a year ago that I bought my van and contacted Martin ??!!

How time flies !

I have done a full suspension and steering overhaul on the van including the brakes.

Thanks to Martin, I now have with me a full replacement roof all the way from UK as well as a grill and lights all around.

I hope to start on that work in the coming weeks.

The van is a very original and un touched van. It has only run 36,000 Kilometers from new.

Good to hear from you Chenaka, I did wonder if that roof arrived safely :)

Hi Ceejay and welcome to the Madhouse:D
That's a very nice original looking Spacevan you have there[8D] I wonder who fitted the roof, it looks to be a good job from the pics but then again you do have some very talented metal workers out there in Sri Lanka[^] My Morris Traveller has just been repaired with a front wing made out there and I've got to say it's very good (much better than the 'pattern' parts made here in the UK) - the shop that fitted it agreed:)

Hi all,
This is another spacevan from Sri Lanka.:)
Bit different from what Chenka got in Sri Lanka.
Side door version but with corner curved windows.
Number tells that it is Diesel engine and belongs to passenger category as a Bus!
