everyone with kids get out and enjoy it!!! my parents always got to work and we lived opposite the school I think its a great opportunity for quality fun times together!
You should try a detached bungalow - no one to keep us warm but the oil fired heating works a treat if you leave it on low 6am-11pm!
I couldn't agree more John, i love playing in the snow too even at a ripe 35. We're detached too but we need to leave our boiler on 30degs otherwise we get no benefit from it at all. Last year we paid £300 on oil in a month HAHAHAHAHAAHA! It's not actually that funny come to think of it. It's better now that we have had it serviced though!
We barely use any throughout the summer though so it just nets off normally. Plus we have a large inglenook in the living room that chomps through the wood and makes the old stonehouse part nice and toasty!
Well, we had -14 degrees last night, and that is just horrible! Have the fire burning 24/7 at the moment. Logs during the day (lots of them) and coal during the night.
As we were almost coal-less after days of very cold weather, I had to take the Cinquecento to the firewood & coal warehouse this afternoon to get six new 20kg sacks of Welsh coal (at least I think it is). And the place was complete and utter chaos. Cars, vans and cars with trailers parked all over the place as people were desperate to get firewood before supply was running out. And as the parked cars were more or less blocking the road, lorries were blocked both ways and it was just a total mayhem.
I was so happy that all I was there for was 6 sacks of coal, and could just stick them in the boot (just about, admittedly) and pay for it - and get out of there.
Fire is burning well now, and lounge and kitchen are warm and comfy
But I shall not venture outdoors!
-8 down with us in Somerset. Local roads like an ice rink. I managed to travel in the 30 or so miles to work today, supposed to be here for 8.30 but got here 10.40.
Trouble is I'm self employed so no work no pay....
Driven to Belfry and back today - most hairy round us with the foot of snow and yes -8 at least! Funny to see the temperature climb and the snow drop going further north!
On my stag night my SC was 'spiked' and I ended up in casualty. Didn't touch the stuff for years after that. Now I'm making up for lost time. I love the stuff.
