Commers in Snow?

Most people over here use studless winter tyres nowadays. Very similar to a regular tyre but a softer rubber compound which grips really well in the cold, and with slightly grippier thread than normal tyres. But they're so similar to regular tyres that they can be mistaken for the standard items. Works well on our little Fiat, I must admit.

As for snow chains, Colin, they (apparantly) take a few minutes to fit. Never used these things myself, but I've heard that it mormally takes about 3 minutes per wheel. HGVs and buses will take longer, I'm sure.

That was my winter driving rant for today ;)
 
just popped in to check Jessica today and she's all nice and show tight (surprising when her passenger side front door is in the garage!) I did notice a rather worrying bow to the central piece of wood on the inside of the poptop [:0] thats a lot of snow up there. I think I should try to push some of it off!

Good idea. Before I built the back of the garage Harvey was under a tarp for a few years. I placed a few bricks on top to help keep it down but unfortunately during one hot summer (remember them) the roof sagged under the weight - still figuring out how to get it back into shape:I

Is it timber?

Absolutely soak it and assert pressure in the way you want it to bend

with clamps or? bit like the old fashioned tennis rackets....sure you remember them :D

Once you have the desired shape dry it and seal it:)

No, it's the fibreglass. I think I'll need to push it up from the inside and leave it for a few months in the sun:)

Oh right.....I think you could maybe plan a trip to somewhere nice and warm next year then!....sounds like a plan emerging to me:D

Ours is fibreglass too, also sagging, thought i might turn the internal timber strengthener to give a hog.

Hi Panky Maybe try a hot hair dryer and prop it up from the inside,[8D]
I took Gladys for a run today she would not start at first the points had choroded a little, so took the dizy out and give it a good clean now she is running sweet again. ;);)

The BotG roof was sagging under the strain of 8" of snow[:0] Just cleared most of it and managed to poke a hole through the corrugated plastic[V]
